Beekdal Lyceum
Beekdal Lyceum was given a clear and recognizable identity following multiple mergers and relocations. Through color, architectural integration and custom-designed interiors and furniture, the design reflects the school’s profile in dance, sports and culture.

After several mergers and relocations, the board of directors and management of the Beekdal Lyceum identified the need for a strong and clearly recognizable identity.
This identity needed to align with the educational profile of the school, which includes a dance program in collaboration with Introdans, a sports program linked to Papendal and football club Vitesse, and a dedicated culture stream.
Ruud-Jan Kokke and Petra Hartman developed a distinctive visual identity based on color and a consistent design language, extending beyond graphics into the architecture itself.
The design integrates identity as a spatial element, ensuring that it is experienced throughout the building rather than applied superficially. The commission encompassed the full interior design of the school, including staircases, central square and integrated art elements.
In addition, all educational furniture was specially designed for this project, tailored to the functional and spatial needs of the different learning environments.
The entire project was realized within the available budget, demonstrating that a strong architectural and design identity can be achieved without compromising financial constraints.
